Travel Information 
Getting there:
Ferry transfers from Hamilton Island are included in registration, but travel to Hamilton Island is not.
Ferry transfers to and from Hamilton Island are 30 min, and will be scheduled to coincide with you arrival/departure. Please enquire about earliest and latest transfers based on your planned mode of transport.

Flying: Jetstar, Virgin Blue and Qantas fly direct to Hamilton Island from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Cairns. You can also fly into Mackay, Proserpine and Airley Beach, and organise ground transport to the Ferry terminal at Shute harbour. Ferries to Hamilton Island leave regularly for Hamilton Island from Shute Harbour. If you are lucky enough to have your own plane, there is an airstrip on the island. There is no landing tax and parking for airplanes is free of charge.  Otherwise charter flights can be organised from Mackay, Proserpine and Airlie Beach. Helicopters are also available. Bus or Train: Coaches run from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns, to Airlie Beach  which is a short local coach trip from the ferry jetty at Shute Harbour. The Sunlander train runs four times a week from Brisbane and Cairns to Proserpine, with coach connections to the ferry jetty at Shute Harbour.
 
Driving: The 1100km drive north from Brisbane to Shute Harbour takes around 12 hours non-stop. Follow the Bruce Highway to Proserpine, then take the exit to Airlie Beach and Shute Harbour. Secure parking is available near the ferry jetty at Shute Harbour.
